The I'm With You Tour is an ongoing 2011-2013 concert tour by the Red Hot Chili Peppers
in support of their album I'm with You
. It is the group's first tour since the Stadium Arcadium tour
in 2006-07 and is the first to feature guitarist Josh Klinghoffer
following the departure of John Frusciante
in 2009. The band also added Mauro Refosco and Chris Warren to the touring lineup as backing musicians. The band returned to the stage for the first time since August 2007 with three secret invitation only shows in late July, 2011 as warm-up dates for their promotional tour. Following these shows, the band began the promotional leg of the tour, whoch included festivals in Asia
. The official tour kick off was in Colombia
on September 11, 2011. Following the Latin American leg, the band started their first European leg of the tour which will last until December 2011.The band will kick off the first North American leg of their tour in January 2012. Flea recently announced that the band plans to play Australia
in 2012 as well. A second European leg during the summer of 2012 is already taking shape, including their first show in Israel
in September 2012. Flea also confirmed through his Twitter page that they would be playing in Lithuania
in 2012.
Flea said that he expects the tour to last "forever" while Anthony stated when talking about the new album, "I can't wait to go out and play this." According to sound engineer, Dave Rat
, the tour will last into 2013 and the band's schedule will be spent 3 weeks on the road and 2 weeks off throughout the tour, a plan they have followed on previous tours.
The band's official website held a special pre-sale promotion for tickets. If you pre-ordered the new album by a certain date through their website you would be sent a password which would give you the first chance to buy two tickets before they went onsale to the general public. This promotion is expected to continue as further dates are announced prior to the album's release. In the past the band's fanclub would send out special pre-sale info but currently the fanclub is inactive.
Flea's daughter, Clara Balzary has been touring with the band working as a photographer and videographer. Titled "View From The Road", Clara's photos and videos capture the band on stage and in settings most fans usually do not gain access to or get to see. Clara's work can be viewed on the band's official website and YouTube channel.
On November 21, 2011, the band announced that they would start releasing professionally recorded live downloads of full concerts from their current tour. The shows will be available in FLAC
for $9.95 and ALAC
for $12.95. Various selections from the band's archive will be added at a later date.

. A crowd of hundreds filled the boardwalk below to watch and in between filming the band teased the crowd with mostly snippets and instrumental versions of their own songs and a few cover songs. "Skinny Sweaty Man" was performed for the first time since 2003. This was not a full show or stop on their tour. Below are the songs that were performed during breaks from filming the video.
in Cologne, Germany titled, Red Hot Chili Peppers LIVE: I'm With You. The performance, which was held before a crowd of around 1,000 people was shown in over 900 movie cinemas and in high definition
. A special repeat showing will be screened in cinemas on September 1, 2011. Tickets went on sale August 5, 2011.The concert will be screened in cinemas throughout Japan for two weeks starting September 23, 2011. The delay in getting the movie to Japan was due to the time it took for subtitling.
Fans who attended the theatrical showing were treated to various interviews with the band prior to the performance. The 90 minute show featured the band performaning the new album in sequence minus the song, "Even You Brutus" which Anthony said in the pre-concert interview would be left out though there was no reason given for not performing the song. "Did I Let You Know" was performed twice due to technical problems. "Me and My Friends" and "Give it Away" were also performed and they performed a short cover of "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter
. The show also featured Flea playing piano live for the first time on the song "Happiness Loves Company". At one point half-way through the show, Flea complained about cramps in his hands and he asked the other three for a brief rest while they jammed. Anthony also had some trouble remembering lyrics to some of the new songs and recently told MTV in a interview that the band was nervous about playing them because they had so little time to practice before this show.

- "Hard to Concentrate" was performed live for the first time ever on this tour. (Contrary to belief, it was never performed live during a warm up show for the Stadium Arcadium World Tour. The song performed at the time was a jam called My Boy My Girl)
- "Breaking the Girl" and "Fire" returned to the setlist for the first time since 2003.
- "I Like Dirt" and "Universally Speaking" returned to the setlist for the first time since 2004.
- "Sikamikanico" was soundchecked at the September 2 show but not performed. The song has never been performed live.
- To date, "Brendan's Death Song," "Annie Wants a Baby" and "Happiness Loves Company" have only been performed once. "Even You Brutus" remains the only song from I'm with You to never be performed live.
- The cover of Neil Young's "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" has been performed often and mostly during the encore.
- Most encores on the tour have started out with a drum/percussion jam with Chad Smith, Mauro Refosco and at a few shows, Josh Klinghoffer on drums. Shows almost always end with Give It Away which is followed by a long jam.
- On this tour they have been been playing a lot less songs from their new album then they usually do on other tours where they typically play multiple songs from the album they are supporting. The European leg is averaging 4 songs from the new album instead of 6 or 7 like on the South American leg. Not including warm-up dates or t.v. performances, "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" and "Monarchy of Roses" have been performed at every show while "Look Around" has been performed at all but three shows so far on the tour.
