Estadio Monumental is a football stadium in Santiago, Chile
. Completed in 1989, the stadium has a current spectator capacity of 45,000. Originally, the stadium could hold up to 65,000 spectators but that was dramatically reduced for security reasons. The highest ever recorded attendance was 69,305 spectators which occurred in 1992 in a match featuring Chilean rivals Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile which ended in a 0-2 victory for the latter team. The stadium was also home to the 1991 Copa Libertadores final match won by Colo-Colo, so far the only chilean team to win the trophy. Its principal tenant and owner is the corporate entity Blanco y Negro that runs Colo-Colo and for which Chilean billionaire
