History

The airline was founded in 1993 as Donetsk State Airline, then re-organized and re-branded as Donbassaero in 2003. Their web site was launched in July 2005 and their online booking system started in November of the same year.

On 18 November 2010 Donbassaero announced plans to retire their fleet of Soviet-made aircraft like Yak-42 and An-24 and replace them with modern Airbus A320 aircraft. By the end of 2010 Donbassaero's fleet should have two additional aircraft, one A320 and one A321.
