International applicants

International applicants who want to attend Shifa are advised to initiate the process several months in advance. This will allow them time to understand the eligibility requirements in Pakistan and to complete those well before the last date of admission. The next challenge is procurement of a certificate from a government office of the Ministry of Education called the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). This office attempts to translate foreign qualifications into Pakistani equivalents. It has its own requirements, and it can take time.

Interviews

Interviews with the faculty of the college form a part of the evaluation for selection. Interviews are conducted by appointment.

Each applicant meets with two interviewers for 15–20 minutes. The purpose of the interviews is to meet the individual and appreciate those personality attributes which one would like to see in a caring doctor, such as empathy and understanding.
