Chiles Band

The Lawton Chiles High School Band is under the direction of Mr. Mike German. It currently contains 65 members including auxiliary. In the 2007-2008 school year, the Chiles Marching Band earned superior ratings at the District Marching Assessment,, one of only three in the district. In the 2010-2011 school year, the Chiles Wind Symphony earned the Otto J. Kraushaar award for straight superior ratings at district marching, district concert, and state concert assessments in the same year. This was the first time the band earned this award in the history of the program. The Chiles band program also includes two concert bands (Wind Symphony, and Symphonic Band.)

Chiles Orchestras

The Lawton Chiles High School Orchestra is conducted by Mr. Chris Miller. The Chamber Orchestra received first place at Nationals in 2009, and took home the Gold Award at the Disney World national competition in spring of 2010. The Chiles Orchestra was awarded the Bronze in the same competition. Both orchestras received superior ratings.

Chiles Mu Alpha Theta

The Lawton Chiles Mu Alpha Theta team is very competitive, achieving 3rd place in the state of Florida at the 2009 FAMAT State Convention, as well as being ranked 5th place in the entire nation at the 2009 National Mu Alpha Theta Convention. As well as participating in Mu Alpha Theta, the team members also participate in such competitions as the American Mathematics Competition and the American Invitational Mathematics Examination. Many of the team's most successful students also participate in the American Regions Mathematics League and other competitions. The Mu Alpha Theta team is notable nationwide for their distinctive heleconia-colored T-shirts.
