History

The airline was established in September 1940 and started operations in 1940. It was initially known as Líneas Aéreas Suroeste and consolidated under the present title in 1945 with another air force branch, Líneas Aéreas Noreste.

LADE was until 2006 one of only two airlines in the world to still operate Boeing 707
