"Kukryniksy" was a collective name derived from the combined names of three caricaturists (Mikhail Kupriyanov (Михаил Васильевич Куприянов), Porfiri Krylov (Порфирий Никитич Крылов), and Nikolai Sokolov (Николай Александрович Соколов) who had met at VKhUTEMAS
