The majority of the artery travels west-east, however the named portion travels from south-west to north-east beginning at the intersection of 63 Avenue and 86 Street, and ending at the Sherwood Park Freeway. It is the south-east boundary to the residential neighborhoods of Hazeldean, Argyll, and Avonmore, and the north-west boundary to the industrial subdivisions of Rosedale Industrial, Coronet Addition Industrial, and passes through the industrial subdivision of Girard Industrial.

The east portion takes travelers between the Gateway Boulevard area and the University of Alberta
