Antonio Conte is an Italian
former footballer and manager
. He is the current manager of Juventus
.
youth team, before making his Serie A debut with the first squad in 1985. He was signed by Juventus
in 1992, being later made captain before the promotion of Alessandro Del Piero
to this role. During the 1998–1999 season when Del Piero suffered a horrendous leg injury, Conte returned to the captaincy and led Juventus to the UEFA Champions League

was sacked of Juventus, Conte was appointed by the club as one of the candidates to become the new coach. However, the "bianconeri" hired Ciro Ferrara as the first team manager, instead. Conte had stated shortly prior that he would like to be the Juventus coach in the future, because he thought he was ready to assume the work.
