, Taylor's mentor from medical school, comes to town and Ridge shows signs of jealousy, though Taylor is only acting as his psychiatrist and friend. When a massive earthquake strikes the area, Taylor and James are trapped at a cabin in Big Bear, California. While trapped with James, Taylor has sex with him when he reveals that he doesn't want to die a virgin, and to save themselves from hypothermia. But even then, it wasn't a romantic night, as both were really ill and sick.

In 1994, before Taylor leaves for a conference overseas, she writes a letter to Ridge about her sleeping with James to save their lives. The letter is intercepted by Ridge's domineering mother Stephanie Forrester and she never tells Ridge or anyone about the affair. On her way to the conference Taylor is presumed dead after she is involved in a plane crash in Morocco. Ridge reunites with Brooke, and the two are married.

Taylor is revealed to be alive and suffering from amnesia, having been rescued by Prince Omar in Morocco. When she regains her memory, Taylor returns to California but decides not interrupt Ridge's happiness and leaves town unobserved. However, when her father Jack Hamilton suffers a heart attack, Taylor returns to Los Angeles and her friends learn that she is alive. As Taylor is still alive, Ridge's marriage to Brooke is declared invalid, and he vacillates between the two women.

Eric Forrester was once interested in Taylor, and pursued her, they flirted, and shared kisses at the Beach House. Taylor went to be with Eric, finally, but she found Stephanie in bed with him, sleeping. Nothing was ever mentioned about this, and she ultimately decided against seeing him because she did not want to upset her best friend Stephanie.

Morgan had dated Ridge in high school, and it is revealed that Stephanie forced her to abort a child she had conceived with Ridge. An increasingly unbalanced Morgan manages to convince Ridge that Taylor approves of him impregnating her to replace the child she had aborted. Taylor is livid when she learns of Morgan's deceit, while Stephanie attempts to drug Morgan with the morning after pill. A confrontation between Morgan and Taylor results in Morgan accidentally falling off a balcony and miscarrying her baby.

A now insane Morgan kidnaps Steffy and fakes her death, renames her Stacie, and moves into the same neighborhood as Taylor and Ridge. Taylor discovers that Steffy is alive, but Morgan takes her hostage as well and tries to kill her. Ridge is able to rescue both his wife and daughter, and Morgan is sent to prison.

In 2002, Taylor befriends her sister-in-law Amber Forrester. Taylor moves Amber into her home and helps her fight an addiction to pain medication. Previously incarcerated Sheila Carter, by now criminally insane, kidnaps Amber who had foiled one of her many plots against the Forrester family.

She is stunned to learn that Brooke and Ridge are not only married but share a child. With his marriage to Brooke again invalidated, Ridge is torn between the two women. Stephanie fakes a heart attack and convinces Ridge to renew his vows with Taylor.

When she learns the truth, she begins to have doubts about her marriage and while Ridge is away during the holidays, fireman Hector Ramirez makes use of the opportunity to kiss her. Taylor not only tells Ridge about the kiss, but decides to come clean about granting James' "dying" wish to lose his virginity over a decade ago; Ridge chooses to return to Brooke, unable to accept Taylor as anything short of perfect.

Taylor begins drinking, and soon becomes an alcoholic. When her now teenage daughter, Phoebe is stranded on the Pacific Coast Highway with a flat tire, she solicits help from both Taylor and Darla Forrester

Taylor eventually reveals the truth to Thorne, and is arrested, but cleared of charges when Throne accepts that Darla fell into traffic. The two continue their relationship, but Alexandria's resentment to Taylor ends things, and she turns to a now single Nick Marone. The couple fall in love, are married, and explore in vitro fertilization using a donor's eggs, since Taylor's eggs are no longer viable due to her various medical crises. A donor is found, and Bridget is shocked when she discovers that Brooke's eggs have been used to impregnate Taylor.

Ridge finds the two and is distraught when Phoebe dies in his arms. Taylor blames both herself and Rick, and is mortified when Steffy, Phoebe's twin, shows romantic interest in Rick.

When Rick is targeted by a stalker who has nearly killed him several times, Ridge and Taylor abduct their remaining daughter to keep her safe, and are stunned when their son Thomas is revealed to be responsible for stalking Rick. Rick agrees not to press charges, while Taylor discovers that due to a legal technicality Brooke and Ridge are not legally married. Rick and Steffy become engaged, and when Brooke refuses to denounce the couple, Ridge leaves town with Taylor.

Taylor gives him an anti-anxiety pill to calm him down from his stress, but Ridge eventually steals pills from Taylor's purse and starts popping pills at ease without Taylor's knowledge. Ridge eventually sleeps with Taylor, and a fed up Brooke decides not to pursue him.

go in search of them; during the search, Taylor referred to herself as Ridge's wife while the rescue team addressed her as "Mrs. Forrester". After returning home with Brooke and Thomas, who had consumed berries with hallucinogenic properties on the island, Taylor is rushed to the hospital after eating the same berries and having an adverse reaction. Whip tries to be intimate with Taylor, but she rejects him. Taylor and Whip have decided to end their marriage based on the fact that Taylor confessed her love for Ridge. During this time, Stephenie & Thomas have struck deal——Thomas would lie and say that he & Brooke made love on the island, (which would eventually end Brooke & Ridge's marriage; and bring Taylor & Ridge back together) and Thomas would have majority stock of Forrester Creations when she died. Now, Taylor and Ridge are growing closer together as Ridge & Brooke's relationship flounders in the process.

Later, Ridge & Brooke break up. Due to this, Brooke realises that she will never be decent enough for him, and that she made a mockery of their marriage. Out of sadness, she gave her ring to Taylor, as a sign of what she couldn't give Ridge. Brooke persuaded Taylor & Ridge to marry each other and finally put their family back together. Almost instantly, Ridge visits Taylor, Steffy & Thomas and proposes to Taylor. She accepts—— despite doubts about Ridge's connection to Brooke. However, Thomas' guilt is building up, and he's trying to figure out a way to fix the sitution because he feels that Ridge should be with Brooke, not Taylor, as nothing happened on the island. Steffy, meanwhile, is disturbed by her brother's negative attitude & his unwillingness to support the reunion.

On July 8, 2011, just as Taylor and Ridge are about to say I do, Stephanie stops the wedding, sends everyone but Thomas, Taylor, and Ridge to the guesthouse and confesses that she convinced Thomas to lie and say he and Brooke had sex when the two were stranded on the island. Ridge is furious that Thomas would lie just to get part of Forrester when Stephanie dies. Thomas says he just wanted to see his mom happy after all these years. Taylor tells Ridge that she knows the truth changes everything and if he has to go back to Brooke she understands. Then Brooke and Ridge reunite and then confront Thomas on why he did what he did. Despite forgiving him, Ridge and Brooke tell Thomas that they are going to keep their distance from him. When Steffy finds out about what Thomas and Stephanie did, she is devastated and berates her brother for what happened. When Ridge goes to Taylor's to pick up the rest of his things, she tearfully tells him he's making a mistake, that Brooke's constant scandals will continue, and that she will always love him. She gives him Brooke's ring. Ridge tells her he will always love her and leaves. Later, Bill comes over to see Steffy and when Taylor tells him that Thomas is probably going to have to sign over his shares back to Stephanie, Bill cautions Taylor not to let it happen. Steffy comes in and agrees with Bill, that Taylor should stop Thomas from giving up the shares. Taylor goes to Forrester Creations and refuses to allow Thomas to sign over the shares as she is the trustee of the will for Stephanie, saying that while she knows Thomas was wrong, she is not going to let him pay for his grandmother's manipulations nor is she going to allow her family to lose anything else to Brooke and Ridge.

Taylor is further outraged at Stephanie when she acknowledges that Taylor would have never been able to get Ridge to come back to her without her manipulating the situation. Taylor acknowledges that unfortunately that's true but that she allowed Stephanie to use her in her vendetta against Brooke to break up, Ridge and Brooke but that she refuses to be her pawn ever again and she has her own brain and their friendship is over and this is just the beginning of her starting to truly live her life without her influence. Stephanie is very hurt.

Anthony, an ex homeless man who claims to read the future, tells Taylor that her future soulmate will come to her door and she'll hear a cat's meow before seeing him. Taylor scoffs at the idea but becomes intrigued after Thorne Forrester, her ex brother-in-law, shows up at the door in the pouring rain after hearing a cat meow in the rain. Thorne comes to tell her he's on her side and wants to get back at Ridge and Stephanie for selling his and the rest of the Forrester's stocks away and for treating their inheritance with such non-chalance. Thorne ends up taking up for Steffy and Thomas going against Ridge's treatment of Taylor and her adult children, reigniting the feud he had had with Ridge years ago.
