It was not until this time that Eric was revealed to be Bridget's biological father. Bridget was then forced to understand how Eric, and not Ridge was her father. In 1998, Bridget ran away from home after Ridge told her that he was leaving Brooke and going back to Taylor.

, to convince Nick that she is the one for him.

However, Katie was also helping Nick raise Jack, and not long after, they began to have strong feelings toward each other. After Katie was shot, Bridget invited her to recover at the Marone mansion. When it looked like Katie was dying, Nick took her on a cruise to Catalina Island at Bridget's request. After an emotional talk, where Nick helped restore Katie's will to live, they made love. Although Katie recovered, they decided to keep the events of that night a secret to everyone, especially Bridget.

Nick, deciding that he wanted another chance with Bridget, proposed to her. Despite her original hesitation, she accepted. On July 14, the day of Nick and Bridget's wedding, Katie ignored her feelings for Nick, and agreed to Bridget's request that she be the one to marry the couple.

On August 1, nearly a month after Nick and Bridget were married, Katie discovered that she was pregnant, and Nick was the father of her baby. Having no choice, Nick decided he had to tell Bridget and, during a romantic getaway on the Shady Marlin, he told her about his infidelity and Katie's pregnancy. Bridget was furious. She told Nick that she wanted nothing to do with him and moved out. Bridget also confronted Katie, who felt she was getting what she deserved when Bridget gave her a verbal lashing. Bridget told her aunt that both she and Nick betrayed her trust, so they would never be welcome into her heart again. Nick and Katie were devastated with what Bridget had said, but were still hopeful that things would eventually work out.

Bridget sought for a divorce, which was finalized on September 23, 2008. However, Nick's mother, Jackie, is still hopeful that Nick will find his way back to Bridget, whom she really cares about, and away from Katie, whom she doesn't like very much.
