The earliest mentions of the settlement are from Roman

The town has actually been formed on the base of old villages: Dolenja vas, Mandrge, Čevica, Martinj hrib, Brod, Blekova vas, Cerkovska vas and Gorenja vas. As these were originally separate settlements, there are a number of churches in what is now the town of Logatec. The Parish Church
