Julphar has the distinction of being not only the first pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Arab Gulf States, but also the only pharmaceutical producer of its scale and size in the UAE. It is also one of the largest in the entire Middle East region. Julphar is a public shareholding company based in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. It is engaged in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products that address a range of therapeutic segments.

Starting with its first plant in 1984, Julphar has rapidly evolved into a true multinational organization with a worldwide marketing network. With nine production facilities located in UAE and its products being marketed across the globe in over 45 countries and 5 continents today, Julphar has truly become a representative of UAE’s entrepreneurial capabilities.

Julphar runs nine production facilities, where its entire range of pharmaceutical products are produced and packed. The nine facilities are devoted to nine different classes of products, together forming the core production facility of the company.
Our growth in the MENA region came from the widening of our product portfolio. We increased our product registrations to 3,487 products, while spreading our geographic footprint to 45 countries in 2009. The new registrations have added to our vast portfolio of product offerings, giving a stronger push to our presence in our core markets. Significant gains were registered in many of our leading markets during the year, where Julphar further consolidated its market leadership position. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Jordan and Sudan saw significant gains in 2009..

History
The Company was established in the year 1980 under the able guidance of H H Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. His Highness etched his everlasting legacy when he envisioned a pharmaceutical company that will make UAE self-sufficient in all of its therapeutic needs, providing quality medicine at affordable prices.
