. They are often referred by the portmanteau "Stic" (for Stephanie and Eric) on internet message boards.

They have long been considered a super-couple, but many ups and downs have challeneged them on the way.

Storyline

Stephanie and Eric met while in college, she a freshman and he a senior. They met and he cheated on his girlfriend Elizabeth Henderson (later Beth Logan). Stephanie became pregnant with Ridge and they got married. While creating the company of Forrester Creations they went on to have more children, deceased Angela, Thorne, Kristen and Felicia. When the bold and the beautiful premiered, their marriage had gotten stale. They ended up divorcing and lived apart for 7 years but remained close friends. But eventually they were brought back together and remarried. Things were not easy and the couple were torn apart several more times, but managed to find their way together again.

Dysfunctional duo

Eric and Stephanie has never been any perfect couple, far from it. They got married in college after Stephanie got pregnant, but she had forgotten to mention that Massimo Marone also could be the father. And Eric kept it secret that when he accepted a loan from Stephanie's father John to create the company, that if they ever divorced the company would belong to Stephanie.

Eric and Stephanie had separated and he and slept with his former high school sweetheart's daughter, Brooke Logan ( drugged [sleeping pills] and drunk, already asleep and groggy at the time thinking it was Ridge Forrester her ex-fiancee) and got her pregnant, after Stephanie had torn the Logan family apart by having Stephen Logan shipped off to Paris for a new job. After Eric and Brooke called it quits, he went on to marry Sheila, a madwoman who had a deep secret.

On their wedding day, the priest found a picture of Eric and Stephanie's friend Lauren in bed, which made Stephanie cancel the wedding. As Eric tried to get Stephanie back, Lauren schemed to get Eric. She succeeded eventually because Stephanie couldn't stop meddling, trying to break up Ridge and Brooke.

While Stephanie was in the hospital after a stroke, Eric proposed to her and they got married again. Everything appeared to be going great for the two of them until Stephanie's old boyfriend Massimo Marone showed up in town. Soon it was revealed that Ridge was not Eric's son, but Massimo's. Stephanie tried her best to keep the secret and went as far as to leave Eric for Massimo, but returned to Eric. The secret was kept until it wasn't possible anymore and Eric left her upon learning of the lie. But after a while he returned to her.

However, when Stephanie faked a heartattack to reunite Ridge with Taylor, he left again and a bitter fight between then erupted. Stephanie found out about his lie about the company and decided to take over the company herself, and Eric remarried Brooke. But when their youngest daughter Felicia fell ill to cancer, they were brought back together and remarried as Felicia's final wish. However, she survived and her parents stayed together.

Eric, once again cheated on Stephanie, this time with his ex-sister-in-law, Donna Logan, the sister of his ex-wife Brooke and ex-fiancee of his son Thorne

. Eric and Stephanie separated and Eric and Donna got engaged. Despite Stephanie's determination to win back her husband, she had had to concede Eric to Donna, and has duly signed divorce papers. Eric and Donna got married, despite Stephanie's best efforts to show the family that Eric was leaving behind. Despite the end of their marriage, Stephanie still loved Eric and many times referred to him as her "husband". When Donna cheated with Owen whilst Eric was in a coma, Stephanie cared for Eric and when Donna and Owen's kissing was discovered by Eric, he did not know whether he could trust Donna and so asked both Donna and Stephanie to live with him for a while to see which one he wanted to be with. Thorne paid a couple of models to pretend to be Owen and Donna and Eric saw them having sex. Eric, thinking Donna was cheating again, left Donna and re-united with Stephanie. However, when Owen exposed Thorne's plan, Eric left Stephanie and called off divorce proceedings with Donna. He re-united with his wife.

In April 2009, Eric fired Stephanie from Forrester Creations, and Stephanie was distraught and despite gaining a job offer from Nick to work at Jackie M, Stephanie told Nick that she was "loyal to her husband". Taylor sadly reminded Stephanie that she is being loyal to a man who did not value her and that Eric is no longer her husband. Stephanie finally accepted that her marriage was over, and accepted Nick's offer. When Bill Spencer, Sr. died in April 2009, and Eric visited Stephanie and asked her to attend his funeral with him, Stephanie finally told Eric that their divorce is final - she won't take him back again and that she does not need him or want him. She told him they are no longer friends and that she is finally free of him. Stephanie seemed to have moved on from Eric - and this time it seemed she no longer was pining for him. She was now prepared to move on & live life on her own. This realisation could have possibly ended what was considered one of B&B's great supercouples, for it seemed unlikely that even if Eric and Donna break up, Stephanie would ever take Eric back again.

She went on working for Jackie M and found herself to enjoy her new family. But her granddaughter Steffy Forrester

had other plans for her family. She saw how miserable Eric and Ridge were when Bill Spencer, Jr. bougt Forrester Creations in a shady business coup and wanted to return the company to its rightful owners, the Forrester family. Steffy managed to trick Bill into signing over Forrester Creations to a trust fond called REST by blackmailing him. She then revealed that REST stood for Ridge, Eric, Stephanie and Taylor - the new owners, if they wanted it. The four happily signed on as the new owners although Stephanie and Taylor hesitated if they really wanted to work there. Eric convinced Stephanie to come back, saying he missed her and loved her and needed her back in his life and business. She agreed to come back and soon thereafter she realized she wanted Eric back. To her surprise, Eric was very upset and angry with Donna for not supporting him enough when Bill was in charge, and when Stephanie told Eric she wouldn't be happy until she was back in his heart and no one else was there, the two of them shared a kiss. Stephanie decided she was going to get her man back and made a tribute for him. Eric was amazed that she still cared after everything he had done and they shared another kiss, which Pamela saw and took a picture of with her cellphone camera. Eric also decided to ask Stephanie to move in to his guesthouse since Stephanie could no longer stay with a newlywed Taylor. Donna was upset and angry with her husband's decision and wanted Stephanie gone, but Eric refused. Then Donna's parents arrived and the Logans found out that their mother Beth was regressing in her Alzheimers. She was growing more and more forgetful and remembering old memories as though they were recent events. Eric decided to let Beth and Stephen move in while Stephanie protested that the Forrester mansion was not the right place for Beth to be. After pressure from the Logans, Eric was forced to ask Stephanie to move out again. As she was packing, Beth showed up and yelled at Stephanie. Stephanie tried to walk Beth back to the mainhouse but as Beth screamed at Stephanie, she took a doily Beth was carrying and threw it away and it landed in the pool. Stephanie left and a devastated Beth reached for her doily and fell into the pool. Her illness had made her forget how to swim and Beth drowned. It was too late to save her life. The Logans were heartbroken and Donna immediately wanted Stephanie arrested for murder. However, Stephanie did not know the importance of the doily or that Beth no longer could swim, and she was cleared by the police. The Logans were not happy with that decision and wanted to go after Stephanie. Eric refused the idea and Donna ended up giving Eric an ultimatum to save their marriage that was falling apart. Either Eric agreed to move, kick Stephanie out of the company and re-opened the investigation of Beth's death, or there would be a divorce. Eric could not agree to those terms and the two decided to divorce. Shortly thereafter, Eric asked Stephanie to come back to him in front of the family for a festive family dinner. Stephanie agreed and the couple was reunited. But the divorce did not come cheap. Donna demanded half of Eric's shares in Forrester Creations and won. Then she sold the stocks to Bill Spencer Jr.

The marry go around

The Bold and The Beautiful has always been known for its many weddings. Eric and Stephanie has brought their share to that number. Their first wedding was in the late 1950s/early 1960s and they re-married in 1999, after an aborted wedding in 1997. In 2003 they renewed their vows, and in 2006 they re-married after a 6 month divorce. They divorced again in 2008. In the meantime, Eric has also married Brooke (1991, and 2005) twice, Sheila (1993) once and Donna (2008-2010) once.
