He regularly contributes on line and on air and hosts a variety of exclusive soirées including fashion shows, art exhibitions, showbiz parties and media events, additionally raising funds for various charities and lending his voice to human rights issues.

In March 2009 Ray started off as a fashion and entertainment presenter and commentator and worked with BAFTA award winning television producer and celebrity booker Simon Wilson, until 2010. He then covered a variety of fashion shows, celebrity parties and launch events including London Fashion Week

Fashion TV’s UK Country Head Amanda Rudin named Emmanuel Ray the best person to report on fashion. He has also represented the British fashion industry on the World Fashion Channel, commentating and interviewing during London Fashion Week 2010.

His column "Diary of an It Boy" was referred to as London’s answer to "Sex & The City" by Break London Radio’s producer Trevor Blackman. The column was spotted by literary agent Britt Pfluger who encouraged him to write a book, on which Ray is currently working.

Ray’s story of going from extreme poverty in war-torn Sri Lanka to becoming a London socialite & fashion icon is the subject of a documentary film being made by British urban film director Nirpal Bhogal. A reality series is also being discussed with television production companies.

, Ray became a dancer at the age of 6, and attended school with scholarships. At the age of 15, a professional photographer spotted him on the beach and involved him in a photo shoot. This paved the way to a modeling career and he travelled around Asia
