The centre's owners submitted plans in 2007 to convert the store into six new units, with a new "entrance feature and additional parking. The vacant store had been converted into Market World, a store made up of small independent outlets, originally on the former site of the Scotmid

 store taking over half of the site. The Credit Crunch has had a negative impact on the centre, as a number of stores have closed. However, in recent times, there has been a recovery, and new stores have moved into the vacant slots.

There has also been recent speculation that a bus station could be built next to the centre, on the site of the former Dalziel Workspace Building.
