Alfredo Logronio Benipayo (born December 10, 1938) is the former Dean of the University of Santo Tomas

Commission of Appointment's confirmation, Benipayo was not re-appointed Chair of the COMELEC and instead was named Solicitor General by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, on October 16, 2002, as the official lawyer of the Philippine government and all its branches. In April 2006, Benipayo tendered his resignation from this post.
