1994 Chilean telethon

The 1994 Chilean telethon was version number 12 of the solidarity campaign
conducted in Chile
, which took place on the 2nd. and 3rd. December, 1994. The theme of this edition was "Chile's Commitment." The poster boy was Loreto Manzanero. This version was performed after 24 months because in December 1993 parliamentary and presidential elections
took place. This was the first telethon to be held during the government of Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle
.
In this edition of the Telethon, during the 27 hours, there was a tremendous lack of cooperation by the Chileans. In the final section to 12:25am at the Teatro Teleton a few moments from the final count, Mario Kreutzberger, unveiled a new total, which for him avoided, for the Chileans, a defeat that was seen to be coming: CL$ 2,952,461,927, exceeding the objective of 1992 by CL$ 78,231,230. At about 1:15am, Mario Kreutzberger read the final count: CL$ 3,138,513,916. The objective was exceeded with a difference of $ 264,283,219. The official collection for this campaign was CL$ 3,640,268,169.
After the final total and a brief interview by Don Francisco of Jane Hermocillas and Valeria Arias, the first two poster girls
, to finish the program, artists sang some parts of the official songs from the telethons in the 1980s until 1992, finishing with all the public entertainers, poster boys and girls and children singing the "Ode to Joy
". This was the last time that the programme was transmitted for of 27 hours in the Teatro Teleton.
