Geography

Zizers has an area, , of 11 km² (4.2 sq mi). Of this area, 41.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 38.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 12.1% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (7.8%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

The municipality is the capital of the sub-district of Fünf Dörfer in the Landquart district. It is located on the most important road through the Rhine river valley.
