It was later a part of the Roman Empire
and after, Tritaia was part of the Eastern Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire
. In the early-13th century, the area fell to the Franks
, it later fell to the Ottoman
Turks
with some interruptions by the Venetians in the mid to late 15th century and from the 1670s until the 1710s. The settlement later was abandoned and lost its name and importance. Tritaia did not became Greek until the Greek War of Independence
and won. The name was revived and was became use in the municipality that was first created in 1835 it added Erymanthia in the 1840s. It was dissolved in 1912 and revived in 1998 under the Capodistrian Plan. Several of its inhabits moved to its neighborhood known as Psarofai
in southeast central Patras in the 1960s, several others also went abroad.
After World War II
and the Greek Civil War
, most of its buildings were rebuilt. Its population moved to larger towns and cities in Greece and abroad including Patras where some of its inhabitants moved to the Neighbourhood of Psarofai
