Tabbah is an internationally acclaimed bespoke jewellery
designer
and producer, renowned for creating fantasy pieces from precious metals and stones for a high-end clientele. The business has existed as a family enterprise for 150 years, and remains so today, run by Nabil Tabbah and Nagib Tabbah, respectively 4th and 5th generation.

had seen Tabbah extend his savoir-faire to silver

Tabbah marks its centenary year with the creation of the first documented archive tracing the history of the family. Nagib Tabbah crafts what has become a priceless family treasure: one unique book with a cover and binding crafted in delicate gold

Nagib Tabbah pioneers conceptual jewellery with the launch of the Phoenicia

Tabbah launches the Beret ring, designed by Marie-Paule Quercy a famous Parisian based designer who also works with Hermès.
This small jewel with pure and sober lines rapidly becomes an international success, and within a few years is transformed into a classic, collectable piece. It achieves status with a younger generation of jewellery clients and today remains an iconic image of Tabbah.
1988
Tabbah launches the Saga watch, designed by Eddy Schopfer an internationally acclaimed watch designer who also worked with Ebel and Breitling. Tabbah had already worked with Piaget
and Vacheron Constantin
to produce collectable Tabbah timepieces (such as the Double Godrons and Rolls). The Saga took five years of intensive research and was the first of a special generation to join an exclusive family of uniquely stylish wristwatches bearing the Tabbah name.
1993
On May 30 of this year, Nagib senior passes away. Nabil returns to Lebanon
and continues the traditions of his family’s heritage. He brings with him over two decades of experience working in Europe
with state-of-the-art technology. Moving back means integrating some modern techniques into the House of Tabbah’s tradition of jewellery craftsmanship.
1997
International auction house Christie’s features important Tabbah pieces put up for sale by Mona Ayoub, (the former wife of Saudi royal advisor Dr. Nasser Al Rashid who is a celebrated collector of couture and rare jewellery). The global hype around this event places Tabbah firmly on the international map of high-end jewellery design.
1998
Nabil’s son Nagib studies at the Gemological Institute of America
in New York before returning to join his father in Beirut
. His passion sees the House of Tabbah explore new creative methods of working over the coming decade. Nabil continues at the helm of the bespoke work, which is branded the Collection Privée, while Nagib founds the Designer Collection, a range that proves popular with a younger generation who are growing into jewellery consumers and collectors in a more globalised era. Nagib’s Kiss Me and Love Bite pieces soon gain a cult following and his fresh approach to jewellery design sees customers of the Designer Line turn into loyal bespoke clients.

Tabbah opens a boutique, the first after the civil war, in Les Dunes shopping mall in Verdun

In February Tabbah showcased the Divine Serpent collection at Gstaad’s Grand Hotel Park. The pieces were displayed in a blacked out room and visitors used torches to discover the high jewellery in the dark.

Tabbah launched the Copacabana collection, a line of bracelets that combines fashion with high jewellery by mixing brightly coloured leather straps with an ever-expanding series of interchangeable motifs crafted from precious stones and metals.
2011
Tabbah’s iconic timepiece, the Saga, is relaunched in a series of limited edition styles.
In close collaboration with HSH Princess Charlene, Tabbah designs and crafts bespoke pieces worn at her marriage to HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, son of Grace Kelly. On the evening of the ceremony the Princess appeared on stage with her new husband during the Jean Michel Jarre concert celebrating the Royal Wedding at the Throne Room of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco wearing Tabbah’s bespoke Infinite Cascade Necklace. The necklace is made of 18K rose gold set with diamonds and pearls: 1,237 white, round and baguette shaped diamonds and 6 pear-shaped white pearls.
