Independent MMA Scene

Razak defeated Sherman Pendergarst via TKO early in round number one. The fight was held at the North American Fighting Championships' card, “Unstoppable”.

He then defeated Demetrius Richards via rear naked choke in the second round at VFC 32: Dober vs. Seipel 2.

On September 10, 2010, Al-Hassan fought Rob Wince at Locked in the cage in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He defeated Rob Wince, when Rob Wince was unable to continue due to a dislocated shoulder, and possibly fractured collar bone.

After Razak was released by the UFC, he was in talks with the Canadian promotion, but he never signed, he went on instead to fight Richard White
