Later activities

After having come to the Philippines for the Miss Earth pageant, Meirelles fell in love with the country and moved there to continue her career. Before coming to the Philippines, she spoke no English; during her time in the country, she has learned both English and Tagalog.

Meirelles co-hosted the Miss Earth pageant coronation night for two succeeding years. She first co-hosted the Miss Earth 2006
