On June 14, 2007, Ontario-based Pizza Pizza
announced an agreement to acquire Pizza 73. Pizza Pizza said it would retain the "Pizza 73" brand for its existing locations in the west, although the company has since opened a number of "Pizza Pizza" locations in new Western Canadian markets, including parts of British Columbia

, and Manitoba
. The menu is notably different from the parent company brand as well, in particular, Pizza 73 specializes in pan-crust, Chicago style pizzas and Pizza Pizza makes thinner crust, New York style pizzas.
Pizza 73 is not a franchised chain, but rather each location is a 50/50 joint venture
between an independent operating partner and Flying Pizza 73.
On August 18, 2011, Pizza 73 launches its iPhone app, allowing their customers even more convenient ways to order.
