Thurston has won many awards whilst at Candle and has most recently won a Silver and Gold at the Roses Advertising Awards and a Bronze at the British Television Advertising Awards 2007.

Thurston has had many of his music tracks released, his most recent being Moroccan Sauta which appeared on the Purobeach Volume Uno compilation album through Seamless Records and Amanzimtoti which appeared on the Purobeach Volume Tres through Seamless Records. He has also had seven other tracks released on The Glen Volume One compilation album through Zerosonic as well as 5 tracks on Soholoft released through Clear records.
