On 1 September 2006, the former Aubonne district (District d'Aubonne), Nyon district (District de Nyon) and Rolle district (District de Rolle) were dissolved and portions of the old districts were merged into the new Nyon district.- The municipalities of Longirod, Marchissy and Saint-George came from the Aubonne district (District d'Aubonne).
