Niederdorf is first mentioned around 1345-89 as Onoltzwil in dem [...] nidern dorff. In 1453 it was mentioned as Niderndorff. Like Oberdorf it was part of the village of Onoldswil, until that village was dissolved in the 13th Century.Geography
