. During his college years he developed his love of music and performance. His years after college found him seeking audiences in small venues, bars, and ski resorts. His first album, "Angel's Everywhere" (Green Mountain Records, 1977) was a production of original writings from those years.

In 1979, he formed the band "Light" to promote his new original work. Though the band only lasted two years, it was instrumental in introducing Jonathan to ensemble work and collaborative writing.

Sprout has performed more than 4,400 concerts for children since 1981 and more than 5,500 lifetime concerts since 1972.
