International Roaming Biennial of Tehran

The International Roaming Biennial of Tehran is an itinerant multimedia art exhibition.
The Biennial is curated and organised by Amir Ali Ghassemi
and Serhat Köksal
.
The curators had the idea of a low cost itinerant biennial as critic to the present art situation in Tehran
and also to the "biennalization" process which is happening at international level. The theme for the First International Roaming Biennial of Tehran is 'Urban Jealousy'. Though the biennial was conceived as resident in Tehran, it will, in fact, roam for exhibitions other cities until May 2010. In its itinerant development the biennial has realized in 2008 two exhibitions: the first in Istanbul

(various spaces, November 20 - December 7, 2008). In this biennial have been featured works created by more than 300 international artists.

artists, a limit which permits to observe the world without being involved. In this way Iranian artists try to give us a metaphor
of how appears the world seen through their very particular Iranian "window": the national, etnical and political context of Iran
