 Station opened in 1981 and the first station built as part of the South LRT Expansion which will add five new stations and 7.8 km of track to the system by 2010.

The station has a 100-metre long centre loading platform that can accommodate two four-car LRT trains at the same time, with one train on each side of the platform. The platform is currently slated to be expanded by 23 metres so that the station can accommodate five-car trains with construction to start in the summer of 2010. The platform is exactly nine metres wide.
