Harrington Park was formed on March 29, 1904, from portions of Harrington Township and Washington Township, and parts of the borough of Closter

, the borough has a total area of 2.07 square miles (5.4 km²), of which 1.86 square miles (4.8 km²) is land and 0.21 square mile (0.5438975031 km²) is water (10.15%).
