Origins
The origins of the Farrer Football League started in 1920 when the Albury and Border Football Association commenced and operated from 1920 to 1927. After a two year recess the competition reformed as the Albury & District Football League in 1930 and operated until 1957.Breakaway
The Farrer Football League first formed in 1957 as a breakaway from the Albury & District Football League. Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook and Mangoplah-Cookardinia United competed in the first season. In 1958 all remaining clubs from the Albury & District Football League had moved across to the new league.Restructure
It was in 1982 that the Farrer Football League, the South Western District Football League and the Central Riverina Football League amalgamated to create the Riverina Football LeagueRiverina Football League
