EastLink Television
Encyclopedia
EastLink TV is Bragg Communications' brand for its community channels that serve Nova Scotia
, Prince Edward Island
, New Brunswick
, Quebec
and Ontario
. As of 2009, the company's systems in Western Canada
are served by the distinct PersonaTV
division.
The channels are best known for providing weekly broadcasts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
and Atlantic University Sport
football seasons.
Providing training and opportunities for volunteers is both a duty under the terms of EastLink's cable license, and an opportunity to produce a wider range of programming than would be possible otherwise.
In Greater Sudbury, Saugeen Shores and Timmins, the community channels were previously branded as EastLink TV News, a holdover from the branding used by these stations when they were operated by PersonaTV
. They now use the regular EastLink TV branding, retaining "EastLink News" only as the name of a daily news and public affairs program within the regular EastLink TV schedule.
In Sudbury and Timmins, the company also produces separate channels for local real estate
and advertising listings. The channel in Sudbury is branded as Home & Market Television, while the channel in Timmins is branded as ClaimPost Realty.
