The Volkswagen Passat CC (also known as the Volkswagen CC in the United States

) is a 4-door coupé
version of the Volkswagen
Passat
. It debuted in January 2008 at the North American International Auto Show
in Detroit. The suffix CC stands for Comfort Coupé and the car is marketed by VW as a more luxurious vehicle than the standard Passat saloon (automobile).
The Passat CC falls between the Passat and the Phaeton
in VW's range — while based on the Passat, and sharing its wheelbase, the CC is longer (+ 27 mm (1.06 in)), lower (− 50 mm (1.97 in)) and wider (+ 36 mm (1.42 in)) than the Passat.
In China, the CC was released by FAW-VW on July 15, 2010, and is available in 1.8TSI and 2.0TSI trims.

On the European market the CC is offered with 4MOTION four-wheel drive on the 2.0-litre TDI engines. The 103 kW model comes with manual transmission and the 125 kW model with Direct-Shift Gearbox
(DSG). An AdBlue
version offering 105 kW name BlueTDI is also produced. Availability varies by country.
For model year 2011 (available late 2010) the 2.0T in Europe was upgraded to 155 kW thereby using the engine variant introduced in the Golf VI GTI.

Volkswagen has ambitions of selling 300,000 units over a period of seven years. The company expects that 60% of these sales (about 26,000 units per year) will come from the US market. Late 2010 upgrade
Correlating with the release of the Passat VII the CC received an upgraded interior; the same as in the Passat VII. The parking brake was moved to the center console, interior trim improved and an analogue clock was placed above the sound/navi system. In addition to offering the 155 kW 2.0T, both TDI engines are now BlueMotion Technology with reduced fuel consumption, starting at 125g CO₂/ km (manual front wheel drive 103 kW version).2011 Trim options(US)
