The city is washed by the rivers Uy and Uvelka which are merging in city boundaries, form a water basin which is a technological reservoir for the largest in the Southern Urals  Troitsk power station.

. Gradually from military settlement Troitsk has turned to a trading city with well-developed processing industry.

Facilities

In the city there are 4 higher educational institutions. Most significant of them is the Ural state academy of veterinary medicine.About 5 thousand students are trained there.

At 17 secondary schools and lycéum it is 7,5 thousand pupils are trained.

Troitsk is a multinational city. Its cultural life is full and diverse. Various festivals, competitions and concerts take place all year round, replacing one other.

Economy

The basis of industrial potential of a city is made by the most powerful in the Southern Urals Troitsk power station . Capacity of its power units makes 2500 Megawatt. At the station two new power units by capacity of 660 Megawatt everyone are being built now.
