Plot

Hiram Otis comes to England with his wife, daughter and two sons on a research grant; he and his family will live in a castle called Canterville Hall. But the Castle is haunted by the spirit of a disgraced ancestor, Sir Simon de Canterville, doomed to remain on the estate after the death of his wife; his goal is to send the family packing so he begins a ghostly reign of terror: reappearing bloodstains, clanking chains, haunting moans.

Harry accuses his teenaged daughter, Ginny, of committing a prank that was orchestrated by her brothers to scare the ghost; he threatens to send her home. Ginny, however, meets the ghost (the prankster) and befriends him; she also becomes friends with the teenaged Duke next-door. Ginny and the Duke set in place a plan to release Sir Simon from his 400+-year curse. A classic story of redemption and forgiveness, told through a comic lens. Located at Knebworth House
