This suspicion is proven false but not before Trey gets upset and causes a scene at the store. Later, back at the Cohens' house, Ryan sees the watch lying on Trey’s bed and accuses Trey of stealing it. Trey had in fact purchased the watch as a gift for Ryan and, after showing Ryan the receipt, angrily leaves the Cohens' house promising never to return. Caleb personally visits Lance and exchanges the money in return for what Lances claims to be the only remaining tape; however, right after the exchange happens, two thugs who work for Caleb enter the room and force Lance to return the money to Caleb. Caleb also reveals that he had always known about the tape – he had hired private investigators to do a complete background check on Julie before he married her, and had planned accordingly for the day when someone might extort her. Later, at the launch party for Newport Living magazine, Julie and Carter inform the crowd that they will play a promotional video on a large screen. When the video begins, Julie's pornography tape is played instead, much to Julie's shock and embarrassment. Lance, working as a server at the party, had somehow managed to switch the tapes beforehand, revealing that the tape he gave to Caleb was not the last remaining copy.
