The Book (Time Warp Trio)

The Book is a fictional item that the Time Warp Trio book and television series
revolve around. Depending on what Joe, Fred, and Sam say or do at the time, The Book disperses green mist to carry the three anywhere in time and space...often leading to trouble.
The Book primarily operates on verbal commands made in Pig Latin
, but can be activated by certain haikus or palindromes as well. The Books first revealed function was the ability to teleport its holder to any point in time and space, though it can also bring forth people from other times to where and when The Book is.
It can also speed up and slow down time in particular areas and even has a spell that freezes everything around in time except those reciting the spell. The Book also has the power to bring fiction to life in a warp done. When it was discovered by Mary Shelley
and Dr. Polidori, they used it to bring Frankenstein
's monster and Dracula
(unintentionally and intentionally, respectively) into existence for a short time.
Once it was even said that The Book is the entire time-space continuum. This theory was almost tested to see if it was true or false, when a chest it was locked in was accidentally set on fire. (the chest was then thrown into water to put out the fire and the question remained unanswered.)
There is only one way the holder of The Book can return to the present after using it to time travel; he must find it in the time period he has landed in.
It is uncertain of what other powers The Book has.
Little did they realize, they were being spied on throughout most of their "time warping". Back when Uncle Joe owned The Book, his older brother Jack often caused trouble with it. He eventually tried to take over all eternity with The Book but failed, and Uncle Joe gave it to his nephew for safekeeping. Jack, or "Mad Jack" as he is now called, believes that The Book rightfully belongs to him. (If you look carefully enough in each episode (in the show) where Mad Jack is not a main character, you can always find him in the background)
After Joe saw what could happen if The Book fell into the wrong hands (Napoleon used it to win the Battle of Waterloo
), he built a wooden safe box to store it in, stating that The Book would only be removed in emergencies. However, it still has been removed often—for reasons ranging from getting Joe's Indian
ancestors together so he doesn't disappear to visiting the future to see what inventions Sam could make. Once Anna, Joe's little sister, easily took The Book out of the box.

Background
