in 1971. Before moving to Georgia Tech in 2003, Harvey was professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham

He is past president of the Biophysical Society
and co-author, with J. Andrew McCammon
, of the classic book on Molecular Dynamics
