The Matari and Tirmizi Sayyid are deemed to be of superior status among the Shia, while the Kodai have a similar superior status among the Sunnis. In addition to the Matari and Tirmizi, the Shia Sayyid consist of six further lineages, the Abidi, Rizvi, Naqvi, Zaidi, Kazmi and Jaferi.
