Santo Domingo Petapa is a town and municipality
in Oaxaca
in south-western Mexico
. The municipality covers an area of 232.2 km², at an average altitude of 250 meters above sea level, and is part of the Juchitán District
of the Istmo de Tehuantepec
region.
As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 7,583, of whom 2,696 spoke indigenous languages.
