Professional
Following his successes in the local amateur boxing tournaments he decided to turn professional in 1999, and soon after returned to the Czech Republic. After picking up a number of wins at several venues around the country against Czech and Slovak opponents he won the vacant Czech heavyweight title in a bout against Marek Oravský in 2002, having lost to Oravsky several months prior.
