QHA Trent Accreditation is a United Kingdom-based independent holistic accreditation scheme for hospitals and clinics that functions worldwide. Following the withdrawal of the former British-based Trent Accreditation Scheme
from providing accreditation services, QHA was founded by former surveyors. QHA is a limited company and is registered at Companies House in England and Wales.

QHA Trent's policy is to remain independent of health insurance companies, of international assistance companies, of the UK's National Health Service
(NHS) and of governments and government agencies, and the scheme has no vested interest in the outcome of surveys. It is not a part of any large conglomerate or larger international company.

Joint Commission International, or JCI, is a US-based independent corporation which provides international healthcare accreditation services to hospitals around the world and brings income into the U.S.-based parent organisation. JCI currently accredits hospitals in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.
There are other accreditation organisations based around the world which fulfill a similar internationally-orientated role to JCI and QHA Trent. These include:
- Accreditation Canada International
- The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards or ACHS
- National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers or NABH, in India.
