and the Prix de Diane. Six horses have won all three races, most recently Zarkava
in 2008.
The race is held three weeks before the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
, on the same day as two key trials for that event, the Prix Foy
and the Prix Niel
. The Prix Vermeille can also serve as an "Arc" trial – Zarkava was the fifth horse to win both contests in the same year.
