Mediterrània

. During the months of July and August, the lake is the site of FiestAventura, a show featuring fireworks and floats representing each of PortAventura's 4 other "worlds". The park integrated Aquamusic into the FiestAventura show and has improved the overall performance by bringing back the floats and pyrotechnics.

     – A Intamin Accelerator roller coaster, which opened in June 2007. It has a top speed of 83.9 mph (135 km/h) and is the fastest roller coaster in Europe. The ride is themed along a hay-wire grape collecting machine, launched by a professor's pet monkey.

  • Boat Ride – Takes visitors from the Mediterrania area to the Chinese area.

Far West

Themed as an old wild west town, this area features many western buildings and sculptures. The area boasts 9 attractions which makes it the biggest area in the park. Other attractions in this area includes a wild west version of Tea cups and Dodgem

. As of next year, China will be the home of the new roller coaster; Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya. The ride will feature 5 camel backs, the smallest one being at a height of 7 storeys. The ride will reach 78m in the drop and will reach 76m in height and 2m underground. The ride will be situated behind Dragon Khan and will cross over/behind it in the fall and the lift. Horseshoe at the rear of the Fire Temple.

It also held the world record for the tallest vertical loop on any roller-coaster. The ride built by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) opened on May 2, 1995 and was one of the two roller coasters that Port Aventura had when it opened. It consistently ranks among one of the world's best roller coasters in polls.

  • Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya (Coming 2012) This will be the fastest roller coaster in the park with a top speed of 86 mph.

Polynesia

The Polynesian area is different from the other rides in the park as it is a more laid back area with less thrilling rides. Polynesia is home to 2 shows and a few attractions. Polynesia is one of the smallest themed areas.

The two main rides in the area are:
  • Tutuki Splash – A Water ride on an erupting volcano, riders experience being shot out of a volcano in a flume style boat.

  • Sea Odyssey – One of the most unique rides at the park. Built in 1999, 4 years after the opening of the park, riders are taken into a dynamic cinema themed as a submarine and taken on a journey to the bottom of the ocean. Surround sound and motion platforms give an unusual experience to the ride. Sea Odyssey ride was turned into a new 4D Theater attraction in 2010 and is able to play several different films throughout the day.

It opened for the 2011 season, and it was built between China and Polynesia in former lands of the Polynesia area, maintaining some of its attractions. The investment was around €12 million. Future

For the 2012 season, a large investment will be made in a new ride that is intended to have national and international resonance. An enlargement of the Aquatic Park is due to take place.
B&M will be creating the next coaster, confirmed to be a hyper coaster by Catalyuna Radio (local radio station) on Friday 21st October 2011. It will take the record for being the tallest coaster in Europe.
