Pippa Norris

Pippa Norris is the McGuire Lecturer in Comparative Politics at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University
and ARC Laureate Fellow and Professor of Government at the University of Sydney. She has also served as the Director of the Democratic Governance Group at the United Nations Development Programme
in New York
.
In 2011 she was awarded the Johan Skyttehttp://skytteprize.statsvet.uu.se/ prize in political science, with Professor Ronald Inglehart, for "contributing innovative ideas about the relevance and roots of political culture in a global context, transcending previous mainstream approaches of research". Other recent honors include a Doctor Honoris Causa awarded by the University of Edinburgh, an Australian Research Council Kathleen Fitzpatrick Laureate Fellowship, and the Political Studies Association of the UK 'special recognition' award.
Her research compares public opinion and elections, democratic institutions and cultures, gender politics, and political communications in many countries worldwide. She has served as an expert consultant for many international bodies including the UN
