Parkroyal is one of the hotel chains that uses forefront information technology. In 1999, Parkroyal is one of the first hotel chain in the world to use the SAP R3 ERP and FCS Winsuite software for its hotels. In 2002, Parkroyal is the first hotel chain in Malaysia to use the Micros Fidelio Opera Property Management System and Material Control system.

On January 18, 2000, Bass Hotels & Resorts purchased the Southern Pacific Hotels Corporation (SPHC) from the Pritzker family. SPHC managed or franchised 59 hotels throughout the Asia pacific. These included 24 hotels in Australia, 13 hotels in New Zealand
