Kars spent four seasons (2002-03 through to 2005-06) in the Netherlands, the country of his ancestry, playing first for the Amstel Tijgers

 and then the Amsterdam Bulldogs  There he won 6 trophies, 3 beker cups and 3 lands championships. Kars scored both goals in the championship game as the Bulldogs beat the Tilburg Trappers 2-1 in the final game of the playoffs.

Kars then went on to play one year in Italy for Bolzano in the A2 league. He then returned to play in his home country for Amsterdam again before leaving to finish the year in Deegendorf in the Oberliga in Germany.

International career

Kars also represents the Netherlands in international competition, participating in the last four IIHF World Championship Division I campaign and in qualifying for the Turin Olympics.
