The first product is an MPV
called the Luxgen7 MPV
. It was officially shown to the public on August 19, 2009, and hit showrooms on September 19, 2009. The second product, the Luxgen7 SUV
, was revealed in Xindian
on 12/4/09. Sales began well, with the Luxgen brand seventh place in the Taiwanese market after its first year, with August 2010 sales only ten cars behind fifth placed Ford Lio Ho
.
Both cars are powered by a 2.2 L I-4 MEFI turbocharged engine developed by ChungHwa Engine Corp. and tuned by Delphi
. The turbocharger
is supplied by Garrett
and powers the engine up to 175 PS and 28 kgm of torque
from 2,500 to 4,000 rpm. The 5-speed Automatic
transmission is supplied by Aisin. Pricing for the MPV starts at NT$798,000 up to NT$1,068,000, and NT$838,000-NT$1,148,000 for the SUV. ABS, EBD
, BAS and the Think+ Multi-purpose system (slightly different by trim level) are all standard equipment. The targeted competitor is the Toyota Previa
.
LUXGEN5 SEDAN, the first whole Taiwanese self-developed car, is the new generation of Luxgen series and will be unveiled in November 2011 at the Taipei Auto Show and then officially launched in the second quarter of 2012. Before presenting Luxgen5 Sedan, Luxgen launched an electric concept car
, Luxgen Neora, in Auto Shanghai 2011. Luxgen5 Sedan is the first sedan of Luxgen series. It offers a 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine giving 175-180 hp/26.0-27.0 kgm (2.0 L) and 150hp/21.0-22.0 kgm (1.8 L). It also features Think+ and Eagle View.
