Lola and Gérman Cueto lived in Paris
from 1927 and 1932, where they got familiar with the local art scene. In Paris they had their first contact with hand puppet

. Back in Mexico, they founded a puppet company and toured through the country with their puppet show. In 1936 their paths went separate ways. Lola and Gérman Cueto had two daughters, named Ana Maria and Mireya. Mireya

Due to her paintings and printworks, Lola Cueto became a renowned member of the Mexican art
scene. Her works were shown in several exhibitions in Mexico and abroad. She taught at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the former Academia de San Carlos. She was also well-known for her puppets and her puppetry at the Teatro Náhuatl. The puppetry became family tradition, and is continued in fourth generation today.
